Pittsburgh City United FC hosts Inaugural Walk To End Alzheimer's Appreciation Game

Pittsburgh City United FC hosts Sure Sports FC in Inaugural Walk To End Alzheimer's Appreciation Game

Pittsburgh City United FC will host division rival, Sure Sports FC with a chance to qualify for the UPSL Northeast Divisional Playoffs in City United's, “Inaugural Walk To End Alzheimer's Appreciation Game” This Saturday at 6:00 PM at UPMC Graham Field.
Pittsburgh City United, whose record currently stands as (5-2-1, 16pts) currently sit in second place in the Northeast Conference Beltway North Division will face Sure Sports FC (5-2,15pts) for a chance to clinch a playoff birth in the club's long-awaited Walk To End Alzheimer's Appreciation Game.

The club's staff and players will first be in attendance as volunteers at the Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimers event, which will be at Highmark Stadium, where the team will be greeting volunteers and helping in the day's activities. Later that evening the team will be back in action in what club owner and current head coach Michael Anton Monsour says is the most important game in this club's history.
"I founded this club on the principles of providing awareness about the Alzheimers disease, and to provide support for the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Having been personally part of the volunteer efforts for the Alzheimers Association and specifically for the Walk, I know the sacrifice of time and effort our healthcare workers and volunteers have to put in, each year for this one very special day.
The Healthcare workers and volunteers deserve to be celebrated for their continued selfless efforts that have led to increased funding in research and awareness for this terrible disease and as a club and organization, their effort has been the guiding principle of our foundation.
Competing for a UPSL championship is important as it reflects our efforts as a team on the pitch, but this game, on this special day, is what matters most. This game stands for the very heart of our existence."
- Michael Anton Monsour
